Sunrise Mandala

I created this pattern from my photographs, and repeated it, again and again until I formed a complete circle.

A mandala generally represents the spiritual journey, starting from outside to the inner core, through layers.

Mandala means “circle” in Sanskrit and traditionally created using a geometric designs and colorful patterns. Psychoanalyst Carl Jung believed that the mandala represents the Self and that drawing a mandala gives a person a sacred space to meet that Self. He considered making mandalas an effective form of art therapy, creating calm and comfort.
